Hello Friends and welcome to Week 15. Seven more weeks remain in this CSA season. We will be finishing up the first week of November this year, and wind down before we ”Fall back” so no in the dark pick-ups this year. I can hardly believe it, but those of you who responded to our quick-poll on the date for our Annual Fall Harvest Gathering, are exactly split down the middle! Half for the 14th, and half for the 21st. So we are now trying to solidify the soccer game schedule for our daughters, and see where the best fit will be. I hope to announce this later today. Do check back. Thanks!

We’ve got a great Share for you this week. and we’re excited to get the first dug Potatoes of the year out in the Share. The Amarosa Rose Fingerling potatoes will make a lovely side dish for your meals. Each Share will get a 2 pound sack. Hopefully we will have some more potatoes in coming weeks. We have planted some purples and gold ones I believe as well. All tops are dying back and it’s time to dig and get them out of the ground.

Another pick of our sweet and tasty Sweet Corn will be harvested for your Shares. The Corn is fabulous in so many different dishes the possibilities are endless. Huge Summer Carrots are getting bunched this week for your Shares. Personally, I find the flavor of this Carrot to be more savory than tender-sweet, as the Spring Carrots usually are. None-the-less the flavor is very nice, and there’s some big ones in those bunches!

We are still harvesting Broccoli and Cauliflower for the Brassica. Our hands are tied to get them all harvested or lose them all. As I have mentioned many of our crops have finished early due to the hot Summer we had. Your Greens for the week will be the refreshing Pac-Choi. More Onion, Cucumber and Squash come your way. For your Tomatoes, we need to go down to a half-pint for your Cherry Tom’s this week, in addition to your slicers. We hope to finish off the Share this week with some fruit…..Italian Plums or Melons.

We Love our Members!!

Thank-you for supporting our Farm!!
